CJBeattie (admin): Hello everyone welcome to the Shoutbox Sept 22, 2015 14:24:56 GMT
kaspersky: Hello - my special interest is in history, especially local history in the Eden valley and (at the moment) deer parks. Oct 5, 2015 8:27:06 GMT
CJBeattie (admin): oh i also love history, love the local stuff too, stuff we can touch, castles we can visit, doors we can walk though that people walked through centuries ago.... Oct 5, 2015 21:08:44 GMT
kaspersky: My castle of interest is at Brough under Stainmore. It was the first castle to be built in stone after the annexation of William II. However many experts seem to detract from the status & history I have tried to publicise. Oct 25, 2015 17:26:40 GMT
kaspersky: Kaspersky: 'The Bridge' is returning to the BBC with a new series shortly! Apart from being brilliantly made and acted the heroine is (apparently) strongly autistic. I recommend it. Oct 26, 2015 8:46:01 GMT
Craig (admin): kaspersky just want to say glad to have met you in person.. :) Nov 17, 2015 5:11:48 GMT
kaspersky: Thanks Craig, good to meet you too ... keep rattling their cages! Nov 20, 2015 14:34:55 GMT
CJBeattie (admin): I thought at times I was a wee bit abrupt with the guy from the dwp but he said a lot of things that simply wern’t true.. I.e the deficit, and the fit for work ‘isn’t perfect‘ jesus that’s an understatement if ive ever heard one… Nov 21, 2015 12:48:17 GMT
CJBeattie (admin): As for rattling the cages I think we are wasting out time mate.. The truth dosn’t seem to matter to most people and when you point it out they take offence.. Not sure rattling dos any good at all to be honest… are you coming to the next meeting?

Smile: Awesome work on setting up this group, it might help if you had some photos of the actual group meeting or even just one or two people from the group, if they are ok with that or even just the room would be a good start. Jan 15, 2016 15:43:13 GMT
Smile: I feel it might make it more comforting to people thinking about attending, like myself as it'll give me some familiarity, which I know isn't just an issue for people with an autism diagnosis, it just feels a bit stock photo ish. Jan 15, 2016 15:43:54 GMT
Smile: & that the groups only aim is to talk about employment which can be a sore point for people with developmental disorders because of the difficulties.. & lack of suitable opportunities. How about focusing on social outings? Jan 15, 2016 15:46:14 GMT
Smile: It doesn't surprise me one bit there was a low turnout for a guest speaker from the DWP! that would make me run for the hills, is this group affiliated with the job center? Jan 15, 2016 15:49:05 GMT
Craig: Hello Smile, got to admit the low turn out of the group is disheartening to me and lita, As so many claim to want to support and I for one know there is no support once you have been diagnosed (unless you wish to pay that is)
Jan 19, 2016 23:34:38 GMT
Craig: Thanks for the ideas, was thinking of adding pictures of the room where we meet and I’m the same as you the newness of a situation or uncertainness certainly causes anxiety for me..
Jan 19, 2016 23:34:44 GMT
Craig: The low turn out was a surprise to me with the benefits guy that we had arranged.. But I did fire some questions into him I would of thought people would want to know, to be honest he was friendly but at the end of the day hew as a propaganda voice for the Jan 19, 2016 23:35:11 GMT
Craig: dwp nothing else (my opinion) also caught him talking rubbish a few times and reminded him I.e the economy recovering etc.

Jan 19, 2016 23:35:23 GMT
kaspersky: I am very disappointed that the meetings had to end but would like to express my thanks to Craig and Lita for all their efforts to make the group meetings a success. Also I much regret missing the last meeting myself as I had a holiday booked. Jul 17, 2016 10:10:45 GMT
